Macaroni Salad with Shrimp
Description
This delicious and easy-to-make Creamy Classic Macaroni Salad is the perfect side dish for any occasion!
Ingredients
Instructions
-
Boil the elbow macaroni noodles in salted water for 7-8 minutes or until "al dente" which is tender, but not too soft.
-
Drain and rinse noodles in cold water (to stop cooking process). Set aside to cool completely. I usually add the frozen shrimp to the noodles after they have cooled a bit. If you are adding frozen peas, now is a good time to add them to the strainer and rinse with cold water. * I didn't add them to this specific recipe
-
Once noodles have completely cooled and are cold to the touch (you can refrigerate the noodles to cool them faster), finely chop the onion and add to the noodles.
-
Next, finely chop the celery and add to the noodles.
-
Add the can of chopped up olives. If you have whole or sliced olives, just chop them yourself. You can also leave the olives out.
-
Cut the cheddar cheese into little cubes and add to macaroni.
-
Now, add the mayonnaise, salt and pepper and mix well. Add additional salt/pepper as needed. Refrigerate for 30 min - hour or until chilled. Enjoy!!
